Founded by mother and daughter duo Joan Maree and Danielle Maree, our journey began in 2010 within a vibrant community of South Florida artists. Back then, we were known as Couture by Lolita, a bold and edgy jewelry line beloved for our signature Lolita Skull Lady Cameo — a gothic icon that resonated with alternative and rock ’n’ roll souls around the world.

As the seasons shifted, so did our creative vision.

In 2013, we moved our studio to Boston, where we began working with crystals, druzy stones, quartz, and Swarovski elements — infusing each piece with energy, elegance, and intention. Our handmade designs were lovingly dubbed “Magic Jewelry” for their unique blend of beauty and meaning.

We’ve been honored to be featured on curated platforms like FAB.com, AHALife, FANCY, Handmade at Amazon, Etsy, and RebelsMarket, and our jewelry has graced boutiques and gift shops across the U.S. and abroad.

Now, under our evolved brand Aura Empress, our collection continues to grow — blending high-vibration crystals, gothic-inspired cameos, and one-of-a-kind artisan jewelry for those drawn to soulful beauty and personal expression.
